What a consult actually looks like

A consult is a first conversation. It is not a trap, and it is not the start of treatment unless you decide it is.

You tell me what you are walking in with — as much or as little as you want on a first call. I tell you how I work: confidential counseling, first person, one room at a time. I also tell you I am licensed in Tennessee as an LPC-MHSP(A). The (A) is the associate credential. I work under a licensed clinical supervisor, the way the state requires, through Alliance Counseling.

I will say whether I think I am a fit. If I am not, I will say that too. You do not owe me a yes at the end of the call.

I meet people in Franklin or Mt. Juliet, or by telehealth if you are in Tennessee. I do not put a street address on this site. If you schedule, I send you what you need to get there.

If you want the longer story of how I sit with people, start with more about Derek. If you already know you want the conversation, write me.

If you want the longer story first, more about Derek. When you are ready to write, the next step is a consult.
